Desert Valley Elementary 26-27KidZoneThe Peoria Unified School District is proud to offer the KidZone program, our innovative before and after school care program. Through this program, K-8 students are able to learn and interact in a safe, caring environment. The KidZone Mission is to provide a physically and emotionally safe environment where children can participate in engaging activities and build positive relationships. KidZone Fees can be found on our homepage. EdCamp is a program offered when school is not in session and is available during Fall Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, and the October 13th Non-School Day. If you would like to enroll for EdCamp only, please register for "Non-School Days". KidZone is currently available in the following Peoria Unified elementary schools: Canyon, Copperwood, Desert Valley, Frontier, Marshall Ranch, and Sahuaro Ranch. As part of the district’s 2026-27 budget reductions, the Governing Board approved a change to how online payment fees are handled. Beginning immediately, credit card transaction fees will no longer be covered by the district and will instead be the responsibility of the payer. We understand that any additional fees can be challenging for families. To help avoid this cost when paying Community Education fees, you may choose to pay with a debit card or by entering your checking account information, both of which do not include a transaction fee. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Transportation is available for Foothills students to attend KidZone at Canyon Elementary School. Early Entry Testing RequestPeoria Unified School District allows early entrance testing for kindergarten for students with birthdates from 9/1/16 - 10/31/16. No exceptions. Birthdates for early entrance requests for 1st grade are 9/1/15 - 12/31/15. No exceptions. There is a non-refundable $60 testing fee due at the time of this request. You will be contacted in June to schedule a testing appointment which will take place in July. There is no retesting. You will be asked to bring your child's original birth certificate to your testing appointment. About 10% of those tested for kindergarten and about 50% of those tested for 1st grade were admitted as early entrants. You will be notified by email of your child's results.Child Care Program

First Grade Early EntranceArizona law requires that a child reach the age of 6 on or before August 31 for first grade. The law allows districts to permit early entrance if they choose to do so.
